Creating an alias is an important part of your identity at Kickr. Your alias will be used across our site and in our excellent social features. While most of us already have our preferred alias, if you are coming up with a new one, we have established specific guidelines for choosing an alias to ensure a positive and respectful environment for all users.
Choosing your alias
-
Uniqueness: Your alias should be unique and distinguishable from others. It helps in creating your individual identity within the Kickr community.
-
Appropriateness: Avoid any names that could be considered offensive, derogatory, or inappropriate. This includes avoiding profanity, hate speech, sexually explicit language, or any form of discriminatory language.
-
Impersonation: Do not use names that impersonate other individuals, especially public figures or other members of the Kickr community. This is to prevent confusion and potential misuse of identity.
-
Consistency with Brand Values: Your chosen name should align with the values and ethos of Kickr. Names that go against these values may be subject to change.
-
No Misleading Names: Avoid names that could mislead others into thinking you hold a position of authority or an official role within Kickr (e.g., Admin, Moderator, Support).
Moderation and Enforcement
- Moderation Process: Kickr reserves the right to moderate aliases to ensure they adhere to these guidelines.
- Consequences of Inappropriate Names: If your alias is found to be inappropriate, you may be asked to change it, and your profile will be hidden until it is changed. Failure to comply can lead to further actions, such as account suspension or deactivation.
- Reporting Mechanism: If you encounter an alias that you believe violates these guidelines, please report it to our Customer Support team for review.
Changing your alias
You can change your alias at any stage by visiting your Profile page in the account sub-menu. When you choose your new alias, please remember the above rules.
Hiding your alias
When signing up, you would have had the option to have a private or public profile. If you missed it during sign up don't worry, you can hide or show your public profile by selecting either the Public or Private option in your profile settings page under the account section of Kickr.
